Considered possibly the biggest video game-to-movie deal in years, Universal Studios is making a film based on the Take Two award-winning game Bioshock, to be helmed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski. John Logan (The Aviator) is in talks to write the screenplay. They are aiming for a late 2009, but more likely 2010 release date, not far after the eventual Bioshock game sequel hits the stores.

I am a lifelong Star Wars geek, but currently more in love with television than movies. Venture Bros, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Futurama, Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are my current obsessions. Love all things Buffy and Whedon related. Dying to see the Avengers film. And, yes, I read lots of comics and never get enough time to play all the video games I want. There's a reason why I am the founder of Pop Culture Geek. I soak up so much that I have to let it out somehow...
