Flick Face-Off: Indiana Jones IV vs Sex and the City

For the weekend of 5/30/08 - This weekend all about Indiana Jones facing off against his most dire foe yet… no, not the ravages of age… He’s facing off against a little movie called Sex and the City (which I hear has something to do with the adventures of three hookers and their mom). This is week number two for Indy, and even though Sex pulls a completely different audience than the swashbuckling archeologist, the so-so reviews could hurt word of mouth and cut into the second week box office sales. Of course, the fact that most moviegoers are male and have no interest in Sex and the City means that Sarah Jessica Parker and pals will not pull a big enough audience to even give a moderately received Indy film a decent run for its money. Then again, if somehow the female audience finds a way to blackmail the men in their lives into seeing the movie with them, it could have a fighting chance.

What do you think? Who’s going to come out on top this weekend? Crystal Skulls or Cougars? My bet’s on Indy with another $65 million beating out a relatively disappointing $45 million for Sex.
