Clone Wars 2.0

Lucasfilm and Warner Bros. have released the second full-length trailer for the animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which of course kick-starts the upcoming TV series of the same name. This trailer shows off much more of the action sequences, particularly the lightsaber battles. Watch it here.

A lot of people I know are having ambivalent feelings towards Clone Wars. On the one hand, it looks mighty cool. On the other… it could lead to more Anakin-and-Padme squirm-making. Will it be everything the prequel trilogy should have been? Or are you so over Star Wars that you won’t even bother seeing it?

I will definitely see this. The Anakin/Padme stuff was only bad because the actors were so wooden reading really forced dialogue. I imagine the sheer absence of Hayden Christiansen will do wonders for anything Anakin related. Although he really wasn’t too bad in “Jumper” (yeah, I saw that). But as Anakin it was unbearable. I rewatched episodes 1-3 this spring and I actually got upset at how awful he was.
