Newsarama has a good overview of Turner’s history as an artist and his battle with cancer here. A personal story about one journalist’s positive experiences with Turner is available here. Marvel offers a heartfelt goodbye here.
Reportedly, a saddened veil has fallen over the festivities at Wizard World Chicago, which is taking place at the time of this writing. At least one panel has already been cancelled due to the necessary departure of fellow artists and writers to attend Turner’s memorial services.
PCG’s thoughts and prayers go out to Michael Turner’s family and friends during this difficult time.

This really is so sad. He was a great talent and entrepeneur. Throughout his illness, he still managed to create awesome works of art. He has left behind a great legacy, and an example for us all.
I was at WWC and noticed the Aspen panel had been canceled but didn’t know why.
