First look at Day the Earth Stood Still – UPDATED

Watch it quick, while you still can. It’s the first teaser trailer for director Scott Derrickson’s remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, and John Cleese. Some are calling it unnecessary; I think it looks pretty cool.

UPDATE: The original YouTube version we posted has been removed from YouTube, but MTV Movies has posted a much better version, along with an extensive look at the film and its perspective, as compared to the original. Definitely worth a read-through.
