There’s a short list of tv funny women with whom I’m truly in love. Amy Poehler is one of those fine funny ladies (I’m also in love with her husband Will Arnett… although I don’t know if that makes what I’m saying more or less creepy). After 7 years on Saturday Night Live (and various projects like the Upright Citizens’ Brigade before that), the Emmy nominated actress (got one this morning) will be making the move to prime time in NBC’s Office spin-off in some capacity, likely in 2009. Since she’s currently pregnant and expecting in October, there’s no telling if her role will be as a writer, a recurring character, or as a core member of the cast (she’ll need some time to spend with her baby). And even though she’ll still be in New York for as long as she can as part of the expanded election season coverage on SNL, 2009 looks like a whole new world is opening up for late night’s tiniest correspondent (if you don’t count John Stewart).
