Sony is reportedly developing a Spider-Man spin-off film that would delve further into the story of everyone’s favorite villain, Venom. Jacob Estes (Mean Creek) has written at least one draft of the script but it apparently didn’t go over well with the studio and they’re currently seeking other writers.
The role of Eddie Brock/Venom might be up for grabs even though it was filled by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3. The studio is in doubt as to whether or not he could carry a big budget blockbuster on his own.
