Mega Man 9 Brings Back Old School Graphics, Bugs

Capcom tips its hat to the old school with the release of Mega Man 9. This downloadable title will look exactly like the classic, 8-bit NES entries in the series. Recently, Capcom’s Hironobu Takeshita mentioned that the game would also include bugs that some fans might look upon with nostalgia.

“Yeah, there were some things, like you couldn’t have more than three enemies on the screen at once, so we had to make sure that that’s how it stayed in our game,” he said in an interview with Gamasutra. “In the part with the dragon with the flame, [there should be] flickering, and whatnot … In the options of this game, you can adjust that, unlike the old games. We purposely put some of those old-school bugs into this game, so it does recreate that feel.”

The game will soon be released to Wii Ware, PSN, and XBLA. I, for one, plan on getting it as soon as it is available. Anyone else with me?
