David Hasselhoff is currently in negotiations to make another appearance on NBC’s Knight Rider. Hasselhoff, ever the egotist, has mentioned in the past that he felt the new show wouldn’t work without him or his input. Series producer Gary Scott Thompson told SciFi Wire that’s not the case now, “He doesn’t feel that way anymore. … I just talked with David the other day over breakfast at the Beverly Hills Hotel and explained to him in great detail what we had planned for the show, and he said he liked it and gave his approval.”

Thompson’s dream is to have both Hasselhoff’s Michael Knight and K.I.T.T, the classic car from the original series, eventually make an appearance. He also hopes lure William Daniels, the voice of the original K.I.T.T., to voice the car once again.

I remember being fairly disappointed with the pilot for the new Knight Rider. Thompson, a new addition to the show’s behind-the-scenes staff,  plans on revamping the show a bit and making it ” even more action-packed and fast-paced”. Perhaps I’ll give it another go.
