Marvel Characters are Turning Japanese (i really think so)

According to the New York Times.com, Marvel Entertainment has signed a deal with Madhouse, a renowned Japanese animation house, to produce develop a number of Japanese versions of their popular comic book heroes. These will be complete Japanese-styled overhauls, with Japanese origins and locations, not just anime versions of the established western heroes. It will be a stand-alone parallel universe of sorts to the characters we know and love. Four different films are scheduled for release in 2010. It is not known yet which characters will get the makeover, but I’m betting that flagship character Spider-Man will make the cut. Creators from fan favorite films and series Vampire Hunter D, Tokyo Tribes, and Paprika are said to be involved.

You can read more about this project and the acclaimed Japanese creators involved in the project at NYTimes.com.
