Watchmen Lawsuit Gets Trial Date

20th Century Fox’s lawsuit against Warner brothers over the Watchmen film now has a court date. The trial begins on January 6, 2009 which will make fans nervous as the film is set to release on March 6. Thankfully, the studio hasn’t announced any delay as of yet.
Fox, as I’m sure you know, once had full film rights to the Watchmen graphic novel but lost them in 1992. Warner snatched them up eventually and actually managed to finish the film. Fox now claims that they held on to distribution rights and are entitled to some benjamins. Puff Daddy was truly right.
