Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to return to the small screen in 2009, as a cast member of a new HBO series, The Wonderful Maladys. Gellar will play “a kind of zealous immaturity – like a drug addict with a to-do list,” said screenwriter Charles Randolph , who wrote the show specifically for Gellar and HBO.
The Wondeful Maladys is about three dysfunctional adults who were orphaned as kids. This is Gellar‘s first series commitment since Buffy ended in 2003.
