Star Wars Geeks: Whether you allowed the 8 year old inside you to enjoy the Clone Wars movie that was in theaters in August (I keep the 8 year old inside me right next to my liver, resting against one of my kidneys… by the way, he enjoyed it), you have to admit there’s something alluring about getting the opportunity to visit the Star Wars universe on a weekly basis. Personally, I’m much more enamored with serialized storytelling these days than the storytelling efforts I’ve seen on a cinematic scale (there’s a few rare exceptions, like the Dark Knight). I would rather watch Lost than almost any movie I’ve seen in theaters over the last few years (and I LOVE movies and the movie-going experience!). I have a feeling that the Clone Wars will be much better suited to telling big scale stories and smaller tales in 22 minute story-focused bursts rather than trying to wow the audience by blowing it out in a 90 minute big movie scale.

That said, here’s a sneak peek at the first official image from the premiere episode, “Ambush“, airing on Cartoon Network at 9pm on Friday, October 3rd. (click the image to see the full-size version)

In this episode, Jedi Master Yoda and three clone troopers must face off against Count Dooku’s dreaded assassin Asajj Ventress and the massive Separatist droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect a strategic planet and forge a treaty for the Republic.

I have complete faith in what this series could accomplish, so I’m giving it a chance. I’m not going to miss an episode. And predictably, whether you liked the movie or not, you will too, if you’re a Star Wars Geek.

You know I’m right. Deal with it.
