Angel Star Andy Hallett aka Lorne Dies of Heart Failure at 33

We here at popculturegeek are nothing if not big Whedonverse fans. And the thing that makes every Whedon project great are the characters and the actors who bring those characters to life. So it’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that Angel actor Andy Hallett, best known as Lorne, the green-skinned demon with serious singing skills, has passed away at age 33 after a 5 year battle against congestive heart disease, according to Entertainment Weekly. Andy was a huge talent as an actor, forced to be taken seriously (when he wasn’t being funny) under layers of green makeup, horns, and suits that were the only thing louder than his tremendous voice. I was never lucky enough to meet the man in person, but from everyone I know who had and from hearing testimonies from those who worked with him, he and his golden voice will be greatly missed. Condolences go out to his friends and family and fans around the world.
