Leonard Nimoy to Beam Down to JJ Abrams’ Fringe

fringe JJ Abrams is the king of cross-pollinating the actors between his various projects. Greg Grunberg is a common example, starting in Felicity moving to Alias, and making an appearance as the pilot of Flight 815 on Lost. I’m sure he would have shown up on Fringe by now if wasn’t a regular on Heroes already. Odds are good that he’ll appear in the new Star Trek movie coming out on May 8th. And speaking of Star Trek, Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello has revealed the identity of the powerful and enigmatic man behind the future science corporation Massive Dynamics on the Fox tv series Fringe. JJ Abrams has dipped into his Star Trek cast to make Leonard Nimoy, the original Mr Spock, that mystery man. To me, this is genius casting. I’m dying to see John Noble as Dr Walter Bishop go nuts on William Bell, the man who stole his ideas, getting rich while he rotted away in an asylum for 17 years. It’s good to see a show other than Heroes hiring old Trek cast members to play major supporting characters. So if you haven’t kept up with Fringe, now’s the time as it has really started getting great in 2009 and they’ve just come back from a 2 month break. It’s becoming a great horror/thriller/mystery series with lots of humor. C’mon. Would I lie to you?
