Brand New Theater-Safe KICK-ASS Trailer!

As a fan of the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr, I know for a fact that regardless of its eventual box office take, Kick-Ass will be one of the most loved and most reviled movies of the year, depending on who you are. I’m not going to spoil anything, but from reading the book and seeing that director Matthew Vaughn is not pulling back on the unbridled violence and rather adult language and situations that permeate the story, it means that if you’re a fan of that stuff, this is going to be like Christmas in April. (I’m glad that Lionsgate was brave enough to pick it up and keep it rated R. Let’s hope it pays off for them.) For those that might flinch at such things, especially when they involve a rather potty-mouthed and murderous 11 year old girl, you’ve just found something new to picket. By the way, thank you in advance for the free promotion you’ll give the movie every single time you express your outrage on a cable news network (I guess you can tell which side of the fence I fall on). I loved the footage shown at San Diego Comic-Con and I giggle insanely whenever I watch the red band trailers, but this new theater-safe trailer (courtesy of Yahoo! movies) has lots of new footage that convinces me that the movie is going to be an intense, fun 90+ minutes.
