Kitty Pryde Returns this March in Uncanny X-Men #522

I fell in love with Kitty Pryde back in the 80s when she and I were both teenagers and just young and dumb enough to think it might work between us if not for the fact that she was completely fictional. It didn’t stop me from writing alternate reality stories about my relationship with her and my Xavier’s School pals long before there was ever something called online fan fiction (there was nothing erotic, I promise). They didn’t have powers and, dear god, the stories made absolutely no sense, but I was in love. And apparently being in love with a fictional girl instead of dating real girls meant I had a lot of time on my hands to write 400-some pages of our adventures freehand.

It is now (many) years later and she’s barely aged a day (well, she’s at least legal now) while I’m old enough to be her ummm… somewhat older boyfriend. I was brokenhearted a few years ago when Joss Whedon sent her off to the far corner of the universe in the final chapter of his critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite run on Astonishing X-Men. At least Whedon fought the urge to kill her off as he often does whenever he writes stories about headstrong, smart, beautiful, and powerful young women (there’s a reason I keep my Buffy mini-bust right next to my Kitty Pryde mini-bust on the shelf… they have so much in common). But in just a few months, Marvel brings her back!

The video below features a tease of my girl’s return to the Marvel Universe, including a peek at the cover art for Uncanny X-Men #522 in the final seconds. How does she return? Will she be changed? And how will this affect Colossus? Or Lockheed? The answers arrive this March from Marvel!

Because You Demanded It! Kitty Pryde returns this March in Uncanny X-Men #522 — but how? And what does this mean for the X-Men? Don’t miss a single issue of Uncanny X-Men!
