PaleyFest Announces 2011 Line Up – Walking Dead, True Blood, Freaks and Geeks, more!

doug January 19, 2011 1

The Paley Center for Media has announced the line up for this year’s PaleyFest, to be held at the historic Saban Theater in Beverly Hills from March 4th to the 17th. Every year, PaleyFest celebrates excellence in television, bringing together some of the most talented new and classic creators in Hollywood with a few hundred of their most ardent fans. These one-of-a-kind events have hosted the iconic casts from a variety of legendary geek-centric shows: Lost, Dexter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica and countless others are presented in a forum that showcases some of their best work and gives voice to the people behind them. Fans in the audience also get a chance to ask questions and, in some cases, talk to them one-on-one. Last year, I was lucky enough to chat with the two Emmy award winning lead actors from one of my favorite shows, Breaking Bad (Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul), after the event. Not every cast is open to hanging out until the custodians tell us to leave so they can clean up, but you never know which of your favorite stars will surprise you.

PaleyFest 2011 lineup

While they have an astounding lineup yet again this year, I am personally most looking forward to the Freaks and Geeks/Undeclared reunion event. I’ve recently revisited Freaks and Geeks on DVD and have fallen in love with it all over again, realizing that we as a society failed miserably when we allowed that show to die off after less than one season. Shame on you, humanity! (end rant)

Tickets go on sale 1/21 at 9am PT for members and 1/23 at 9am PT for the general public (if there’s any left) on Ticketweb.com. Of course, if you have mean$, you could snatch up festival premium ticket packages right now! But whether you’re a member or not, expect these tickets to go fast!

Here’s the official lineup for the 28th Annual William S Paley Television Festival (aka PaleyFest 2011):

3/4 The Walking Dead
3/5 True Blood
3/7 White Collar
3/8 Hot in Cleveland
3/9 Parks and Recreation
3/10 Eastbound and Down
3/11 An Evening with Jimmy Fallon
3/12 Freaks and Geeks/Undeclared Reunion
3/13 Supernatural
3/14 American Idol
3/15 Community
3/17 Raising Hope

If you’re a fan of any of these shows, or of television in general, this event is not to be missed!
