Eat My Dust / Grand Theft Auto Ron Howard Double Feature As I’ve said in previous posts, I’ve been eating up these Roger Corman DVD re-releases of his Cult Classic films from Shout! Factory. And they don’t get much better than the classic films that made Ron Howard a movie actor and director. When Ron Howard was one of the top television actors due to the success of Happy Days, Corman approached him to star in the car chase classic Eat My Dust! Howard agreed to star as long as he got to come back and direct another film for Corman. When Eat My Dust! did well at the box office, Ron agreed to not only star in the sequel, but direct it for free! That film, Grand Theft Auto, became Ron Howard‘s directorial debut and was bigger and faster than his previous car crashing classic. (No, Grand Theft Auto has nothing to do with the Rockstar! Games video game series.)
