LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT: Green Lantern Midnight Screening Review!

Luis is back with another Living After Midnight blockbuster movie review. I went with him this time, even though I must admit I’m not much of a DC comics follower. I know who Green Lantern is and what he’s about and what he does along with his rogue’s gallery, but not the finer details of his apparently constantly revamped history. But to be honest, as with all comic book movies, the comics should act as a map to what the movie portrays on screen. It’s never going to be a one-to-one representation because that would be impossible and often disastrous from a storytelling point of view. Also, your average joe doesn’t care about making sure the minor details of a hero’s costume are portrayed exactly right or that his hair color is dead on the same as it appeared in 1965 or whatever. The studio has to make a marketable movie that is entertaining to all.

So did Warner Bros do that with Green Lantern? Are they giving the fanboys everything they ever dreamed of while engaging the average moviegoer with a captivating cast and storyline?
