New Captain America the First Avenger Trailer Arrives!

Captain America the First Avenger poster For some reason I thought this trailer would end up in front of Green Lantern, but it didn’t. And even though I think it’s a bit aggressive for a younger audience, it’s probably going to be showing up in front of Marvel parent Disney‘s Cars 2 this weekend.

This is the same trailer they showed us (in 3D) at the Hero Complex Film Festival a few weeks ago in Hollywood when they screened Iron Man and Iron Man 2 with Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr in attendance. I love the “Heroes are made in America” tagline, but I’m guessing it probably won’t be included in any foreign trailers. Regardless, no matter what your nationality or opinion on spangled things (of the star variety), you can’t help but cheer on a guy slinging a shield and bashing Nazi skulls.

You’ll also notice the new “artsy” and textured poster on the right, which is an interesting choice (it’s also kind of long). I would have gone more for a retro 40s throwback look, but I like it. There’s a depth and strength to it that I can’t explain. Or maybe I’m just man-crushing on Chris Evans.

So I strongly suggest that you up the resolution to 1080p (if your computer can handle it), blow it up to full screen, crank the volume up really loud, and enjoy this gutsy new trailer for Captain America: the First Avenger!
