Star Wars the Clone Wars Season 4 Premieres Sept 16th For those not in the know, it might surprise you to know that the Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network is actually really good. It’s great, in fact! I know the prequel trilogy haters will never give this a shot, but if you enjoy good, classic Star Wars fun, I want to strongly recommend that you check out this series. Yes, it’s technically a kid’s show, but so were all of the “cool” cartoons we grew up with as kids and now revere as adults. You know what I’m talking about: Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, etc. What makes the Clone Wars just as good or even better is that while it is certainly a kids’ show, it has adult sensibilities (characters even die… horribly!). You can’t say that about the 30 minute toy commercials of our childhood. The Clone Wars has great stories and crackling, beautiful animation that is meant to be seen in a high definition flat screen tv (or even better, in a movie digital movie theater, but we can’t have everything). It explores corners of the Star Wars galaxy that we’ve only dreamed about or never knew existed. It’s got all the humor, action, and heart you would expect from Star Wars.

I say it’s time for those who dismiss the prequels and those still on the fence to take a shot at checking out the Clone Wars one-hour season premiere on Cartoon Network, airing Friday, September 16th at 8pm. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

And in the all new EXTENDED season 4 trailer below, you’ll find Admiral Ackbar, Death Watch Mandalorians, Anakin facing down some slavers (he doesn’t like them very much), and some crazy new light-whips! (laser-whips? what are they officially called?) The only thing I didn’t see was Savage Opress. That’s an interesting omission. hmmmm…
