Brand New JOHN CARTER Trailer from Disney

When you say the name John Carter, most people have no idea who you’re talking about. But for many, John Carter of Mars is the literary and cinematic inspiration/template for nearly every major and minor sci-fi and fantasy staple we’ve grown up with over the last century. But while we’re all familiar with the concepts that John Carter may have inspired in countless films, books, tv shows, and video games, it can be considered a gamble to actually try to bring the Edgar Rice Burroughs created Civil-War-soldier-turned-Martian-Warrior to the big screen since he’s not a teen vampire or a spandex-clad superhero. John Carter was part of the first genre mashup before there were genres to mash up. But will that help him at the box office or hurt him?
