Iron Sky Trailer - Space Nazis from the Dark Side of the Moon!
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard anything concrete on this movie. So long, in fact, that I think the last time I saw a video, it was still in the “hey check out this cool concept trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist” phase. I don’t know. All I know is now that I’ve seen the full official trailer, I want to see this in the theaters – NOW! How can you NOT see a movie that features an attack from Space Nazis from the Dark Side of the Moon? It’s beautifully absurd. And from the looks of things, not too much of this film is meant to be taken seriously. The dialogue sounds like it was intentionally written and delivered by writers and actors from another time, but the special effects look oddly ahead of their time for people who don’t have ILM or Weta backing them. According to the video below, there are more than 800 visual effects shots created, edited, compiled, and rendered on more than 40 computers in a single room, by a team of people from Germany, Australia, UK, US, Canada, and more. And did they have a big Hollywood studio backing them? Nope. They’re funds were crowdsourced by fans of the director’s previous fan film spoof of Star Trek, called Star Wreck. Look for Iron Sky to hit theaters April 4th in the US. If it gets in front of enough people and is actually as fun as it looks, it could be the big surprise movie of the spring/pre-summer!
