First Look at Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

First Look at Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
You know that when Tim Burton reworks a known, traditional concept for film, it's going to get freaky. He did it with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he's done it with Sweeney Todd, and you have to admit his two Batman films were more than a little weird. Well, Disney has put him ...

Alfred to Fight in Lego: Batman

Alfred to Fight in Lego: Batman

Flick Face-Off: X-Files vs Step Brothers

Flick Face-Off: X-Files vs Step Brothers
This is a weird week. I'm torn. This is a great example of summer movie counter-marketing. Big sci-fi adventure versus a big bawdy comedy. I'm rooting for both. But I'm way too distracted by Comic-Con madness to probably see either this weekend. Maybe on Monday... my sleep in and ...

Flick Face-Off: The Dark Knight vs Mama Mia

Flick Face-Off: The Dark Knight vs Mama Mia
C'mon. Seriously... There is absolutely no competition here. Sure, releasing Mama Mia on the same week as the Dark Knight is a savvy bit of counter-marketing to reach the people (women) who have no interest in seeing a movie starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (do such women exist?). I'll keep this short. ...

DC’s Trinity starts strong

DC's Trinity starts strong
DC Comics constantly frustrates me. DC probably has the most recognizable and iconic superhero characters in the world -- Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc. -- but they're written as untouchable gods. We're rarely given an opportunity to relate to DC's biggest characters. It drives me batty. DC's supergods may be great at fighting the bad guys, but who cares, if they never show signs of having a soul?
