In honor of the Oscars this weekend I give you (well, actually
Cracked.com and
BriTANicK gives you) A Trailer for Every Academy Award Winning Movie Ever.
Just consider this the umpteenth blog post praising the creators' clever observation of movie cliches where I ramble on incessantly in an effort to up ...

As a fan of the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr, I know for a fact that regardless of its eventual box office take, Kick-Ass will be one of the most loved and most reviled movies of the year, depending on who you are. I'm not going to spoil ...

Now that we're beyond the bulk of the really important holiday season (no, I don't include the Hallmark holiday called Valentine's Day), we can post the many gifts the Superbowl has given us this night... and by that, I mean the many 2009 movie teaser trailers that premiered tonight. Hulu has them all, so ...

This is another one of those odd weeks. Normally, you'd think that this would be an easy win for a new Star Wars movie (okay, it will be), but this isn't a regular Star Wars movie. And animation (unless it's Pixar) always seems to make some people wary. Plus, I've heard that ...

This is an odd one. Stoner action flick versus a rare chick flick sequel. And neither of them were released on Friday. Both opted for the Wednesday release, hoping for a little more time in the theaters before the new Star Wars movie hits screens. It used to be that August ...

I'm going to be the idiot geek here and confess that before I read the story in Entertainment Weekly, I had no idea what Twilight was. Sue me. I'm not a woman. But I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and sit through the Comic-Con Twilight panel to see ...

For the weekend of 6/27/08 - What's with all of the recent alliteration between Flick Face-Off contenders these past few weeks? Get Smart vs Love Guru, Hulk vs the Happening, and now Wall-E vs Wanted. Methinks someone planned this...
Anyway, this week will belong to Wall-E, easily. C'mon... it's Pixar! And ...

In case you haven't heard, possibly the greatest television comedy of the 21st century is coming to a theater near you in 2009. Yes, I realize that Jason Bateman has been saying this since last year, pretty much anytime he's in front of cameras touting a new project (this time while promoting the movie ...

For the weekend of 6/20/08 - Two big comedies going head to head on a summer weekend... this is something that most studios don't dare try. Let's just say it doesn't bode well for the studios when moviegoers have to make a choice between 2 comedies. And as much as I love Mike ...

For the weekend of 6/13/08 -I have a pretty good feeling that this week will be easy to call. Just look at the picture. Who looks more scared to you? Of course, both of these movies are coming off past defeats. The last Hulk movie is widely reviled by fans and the general public for not being a true Hulk movie in the "HULK SMASH!" tradition, opting instead for existential wandering and weak foes. And M Night Shyamalan can't seem to break the "lame twist guy" reputation he's earned in recent years, since none of his movies have ever lived up to his debut, The Sixth Sense (although I do think Unbreakable is a superior offering).

For the weekend of 6/6/08 - It's a martial arts match up this week with Jack Black bringing the kung fu as an animated panda versus Adam Sandler's Israeli martial artist/soldier/hairdresser comedy. While neither are likely to have Indiana Jones level openings, both should keep the box offices busy all weekend. The big ...

At last night's MTV Movie Awards, everyone was hawking their upcoming movies, and no one was hawking harder than Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. In an attempt to piggyback on the success of his co-stars' summer blockbusters, director Ben Stiller decides to go "viral" with their marketing. Oddly enough, you can't find it on Youtube, where you would imagine it would be at its most viral. Oh well. Either way, it's hilarious...
